This North Carolina GOPer Was Just Arrested For A Crime I Can’t Even Fathom. DISGUSTING

A North Carolina candidate for county commissioner has been arrested and charged with statutory rape. Chad Nevada Mockerman, 39, turned himself in to authorities in Concord, after his ex-wife reported his crime.

According to police, Mockerman’s ex-wife stated her then-husband had sexual relations with a minor who was under the age of 16. The incident occured in June 2012, when Mockerman was 37. He turned himself in to police on September 5, which coincidentally was the same day the couple’s divorce became final. It is not clear whether the ex-wife’s actions were motivated by the divorce or by wanting to bring Mockerman to justice.

Statutory rape is a criminal charge levied at those who have sexual relations with someone who is not of legal age to consent.

Mockerman is already planning a wedding with his current girlfriend, whom he proposed to on August 9. The event included family members, dancers and a band. Mockerman said his girlfriend, Amanda, is not only beautiful, but also highly intelligent and accepting of who he is.

At this time, it is not known what the outcome of the case will be, but if convicted of statutory rape, Mockerman could spend many years in prison.
