Sailor is the name of our gentle giant Mastiff. She may be a member of the canine species, but she knows her position as an important part of our human family. Sailor runs with us and plays with us in the yard. That is why it was only natural she would want to swim with us on hot Arizona days.
Despite the dangers, it was unanimous that Sailor should be helped to learn to swim. Sailor had been watching us exhibit world class dog paddling techniques for her to copy. Once she had become accustomed to her custom fitted life vest Sailor was ready for the start of her private swimming lessons.
Watching the care father took with Sailor, just as he had with anyone else in the family, was a sight to behold. It was hard to tell who was more proud, Sailor or Dad, as he told the world how Sailor was getting better at swimming every day. We were all proud of both of them, cooling off together in the pool, despite another blazing hot Arizona day. Soon Sailor may start spending time in the pool on her own. Anyone can plainly see Sailor enjoys the cooling water so much.
