J.K. Rowing: ‘Trump is a Tiny, Tiny, Tiny, little man’

Donald Trump and Twitter feuds seem to go hand-in-hand, and the first few months of the Trump presidency have seen no shortage of mudslinging directed at the Commander-in-Chief. One of the most notable of these feuds involves famed Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling. Despite being of British nationality, Rowling hasn’t been afraid to weigh in on American politics and has frequently used Twitter as an outlet to vent her frustrations over President Trump and his actions.

This past Thursday saw Rowling again take to Twitter in order to ridicule President Trump after videos emerged of Trump apparently pushing the president of Montenegro out of the way at a recent NATO summit. In the video, the president can be grabbing Montenegro’s president by the arm and forcefully moving him aside in order to get to the front of the crowd.

In keeping with her tradition of deriding Trump, Rowling seized upon the video as an opportunity to poke fun at the president. In a Twitter post that has since gone viral, the author shared the video of Trump and the Montenegrin president with a caption that read “You tiny, tiny, tiny little man.” As expected, the tweet immediately began to be shared and has since been retweeted well over 100,000 times.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that Rowling has directly insulted Donald Trump on Twitter. In fact, the author was particularly active about voicing her opinion during the 2016 presidential election. In live-tweeting the last debate between Trump and Democratic challenger Hillary Clinton, Rowling referred to Trump as “a giant orange Twitter egg.”

She also questioned some of the words he used during the debate and used them to insinuate that Trump may not be human. After Trump mentioned during the debate that he had ‘developed many friends,’ Rowling couldn’t resist the opportunity to make a comment; tweeting “Humans ‘make’ friends, Donald. They ‘make’ them.”

As for the question of why a British author is publicly calling out American politicians, Rowling also had a response for this when a Twitter user suggested she should mind her own business. In response to the tweet, Rowling suggested that “When a man this ignorant & easy to manipulate gets within sniffing distance of the nuclear codes, it’s everyone’s business.”

Although President Trump hasn’t (yet) commented on Rowling’s tweet calling him a tiny little man, the White House did release an official statement about the incident with the Montenegrin president in which they passed off the apparent shove as simply a “casual greeting.” Nonetheless, many others feel that it just another example of Trump’s insecurities and points to a level of immaturity that makes him unfit for the office.

Whether or not this is actually true is surely a matter of personal opinion, but one thing that does seem true is that Rowling will continue to use Twitter to highlight any mistakes President Trump makes.
