During an excursion to the Washington D.C. Zoo, President Donald Trump’s oldest daughter, Ivanka Trump, took a picture in front of an elephant enclosure along with her three children. She then posted the photo on her Twitter page and referenced the elephant standing behind her as one of her new friends.

Many on Twitter were quick to express their distaste with the post, and followed their hatred with comments showing their accusations that she is always trying to paint her family in a good light, even if they are not as innocent as she portrays. Especially when considering their politics, finances, and extracurricular activities.
Activities that many were instantly reminded of after viewing the seemingly innocent picture of a family in front of an elephant. It did not take long for her feed to be filled with those who reminded her of a photo of Ivanka’s brother, Donald Trump Jr. In the picture referenced, Donald Jr. is pictured posing with the severed tail of an elephant that he had killed.
It would seem by the many unflattering comments that American’s are annoyed by Ivanka, who appears to be always happy and cheerful. Many seem to believe it is a ploy to make them think that the Trump family is a likable, normal family. They seem to think that this picture is an attempt to hide other pictures like Donald Jr.’s, by replacing his murdered elephant with an adorable family photo op.
If you follow Ivanka’s several social media platforms, you will notice that she often seems to be doing all the usual things any mother would do with their children, like visiting a zoo and taking pictures with elephants. She doesn’t often point out that she took her family from their homes to move them to D.C. so that she could plan an active role in her father’s administration. As far as White House credentials, Ivanka has no previous experience that makes her position relevant, and no official title. Despite this, she does have a West Wing office and has been granted a top-level security clearance.
Ivanka’s involvement has been apparent from the beginning, from the campaign trail with her father and now in her advisory capacity in the White House. Many feel that she has been allowed to become too involved and that the only purpose could be to ensure that the Trump agenda is pushed through. This makes her poses with children and animals hard to stomach by some.
