On a cold winter night, there’s nothing better than sitting down in your warm kitchen to a steaming cup of hot tea. Unfortunately, your warm home also attracts some unwanted guests.
No, I don’t mean the guests who talk loudly and tell bad jokes. I mean pesky critters like mice and spiders trying to escape the cold. Luckily, the fix can be as easy as saving the tea bag from your cup of tea. Just make sure it’s peppermint tea.
Mice and spiders hate peppermint and won’t go near anything with a peppermint aroma. Just brew a cup of tea and leave the tea bag in the corner of the room where the mice and spiders were seen. To maximize effectiveness, leave a tea bag in each corner of the room. You’ll need to use four tea bags instead of one, but the results are worth it.
Maybe you aren’t a tea drinker. No problem, you can use essential oil instead. Fill a spray bottle with water and add 10-15 drops of peppermint oil. Spray this mixture around the baseboards to keep the mice and spiders away. As a bonus, your home will smell wonderful! Cinnamon and lemon oil will also work for spiders.
