Stray Dog Saves Woman From Attackers – Two Weeks Later, She Adopts Him

When British woman Georgia Bradley went on vacation in Greece, she did not expect to meet a new best friend. The Plymouth University student was walking on a beach in Crete when she was approached by two men. The men started a friendly conversation, but Bradley felt uneasy about them. When she refused a drink invitation, one of the men grabbed her roughly. Bradley was shocked by what happened next.

Out of nowhere, a small black dog appeared and sat down at Bradley’s feet. The animal barked loudly and drew attention, eventually driving the two men away. Shaken by the incident, Bradley returned to her rental with the dog right behind her. She petted the animal and thanked it for protecting her. The bond between the two grew over the following days, and Bradley named the dog Pepper.

When her vacation ended, Bradley said Pepper ran after her taxi cab as she left for the airport. Once back in England, she could not get the courageous little dog off her mind and decided to return to Crete two weeks later. She thought finding the stray animal might prove futile, but Pepper was waiting on the beach.

Bradley ran into delays when she attempted to adopt Pepper. She first had to prove the animal was indeed a stray before a vet could examine it. The next step was a three-week stay in a Greek quarantine before being issued a pet passport. When Bradley was finally allowed to take Pepper home to the UK, she got an even bigger surprise. Pepper was pregnant with several puppies.

Overall, it took three trips to Greece to adopt Pepper, and Bradley flew over 6,000 miles to bring her protector home. One week after arriving in England, Pepper gave birth to a family of six puppies. Bradley said the babies were just an extra blessing from the very brave little dog.
