A grandfather in Lumberton, North Carolina has proven that he is not someone that people should want to miss with. Two armed men broke into his home and attempted to rape his 19-year-old daughter.
The man, whose name is Kenneth Byrd, heard someone knock on his door at 10 p.m. The man stated that he was experiencing car trouble and needed some help. That was when two other armed men attempted to enter the home.
The men demanded that Kenneth and his wife give them money. Kenneth also discovered that the men had another sinister plan. They wanted to rape Kenneth’s granddaughter. He was not going to sit back and let that happen. The grandfather used a gun that he had in his safe. He shot all three men.
One of the men shot the grandfather. They then left in a truck. Jamar Hawkins and Benjamin Carver Stephens are two of the people who were involved in the robbery. They went to the local hospital to go to the hospital. Jamie Lee Faison was found dead in the car. Kenneth had to be airlifted to the hospital and is in critical condition. He is now being called a hero because of his actions.
