Pork and Root Beer? You’ll Be Surprised How Well These Flavors Cook Together in a Croc Pot

There are several things that you can put in a crock pot that make for an easy meal. From chicken to beef, you can put anything in the pot, leave it for a few hours and have a delicious meal without a lot of effort. Root beer is an ingredient that you might not think about using except with ice cream, but you can add it to pork in a crock pot for a tasty meal.

When you add the root beer to the pork, it makes it juicy and tender, ideal for a pulled pork sandwich. A boneless two-pound pork butt is often the best thing to use with the recipe.

Use one bottle of root beer, a 12-ounce bottle of BBQ sauce, a pinch of salt and a small amount of Worcestershire sauce. You can also use a bit of chili powder for a little kick.

Mix all of the wet ingredients in the crock pot and the dry ingredients in the bowl. Add the pork to the pot after the ingredients are combined. Cook on a low heat for about six hours. When the pork is done, you can remove it from the pot to make sandwiches that are topped with more BBQ sauce or slaw.
