After Losing His Best Friend, Depressed Dog Grieves

Dogs usually know when they have lost their owners. Some dogs will sit beside a casket, longing for the love and companionship that the owner offered. George is a dog that has been very sad because he lost his best friend, a Labrador named Blackie. They were friends for 12 years before Blackie died. George’s owner saw that the dog was so depressed that he almost didn’t survive without his best friend.

When it seemed like all hope was lost for George and that he would simply grieve himself to death, another friend showed up one day. One day during the anniversary week of Blackie’s passing, a duck waddled onto the front porch where George and his owner were sitting.

The duck immediately took up with George. Dogs are usually known for chasing birds and other animals away, but George was happy with the duck as well. The family named the duck Donald, and they soon saw that the two animals were friends and would get along well together.

The duck would lay next to the dog, and the dog would seem to keep the duck warm. The two even share a bed together inside the home. George now seems to be happy once again with his new best friend.
