A baby horse was abandoned shortly after being born. The baby was taken in by an unlikely animal that understood the baby’s emotional pain. A mother horse gave birth, but lost her baby. Only two days after the mother’s baby died, the other foal lost its mother. Doctors thought that the two horses should meet.
The mother was in danger while in delivery as the baby was turned the wrong way. Doctors were able to save the mother, but it meant that the baby would be stillborn. When the mother met the baby foal that lost its mother, they shared an immediate connection.
The mother horse rested on the ground beside the baby, cuddling against the small horse. Only a few hours after the two were introduced, the mother was caring for the baby like her own. The baby was even able to nurse from the mother horse. Pictures of the two horses have been posted online.
The mother grooms the baby and allows the baby to follow her around so that she can see how to grow up to be a strong horse. This isn’t something that usually happens as mothers usually don’t accept another horse’s foal. This is a bond that doesn’t seem like it will be broken any time soon.
