The recent criticism that many police officers face today has caused many police officers to become discouraged. This is the case of police officer Rance Quinn. Rance Quinn is a member of the Kansas City Police Department.
Quinn has recently felt a lack of support from the community that he has served and protected for over 20 years. Quinn recently expressed his frustration of the amount of “anti-police type of activity going on” that makes him feel “under-appreciated.” However, the recent behavior by one teenager has reignited Rance Quinn’s joy for his profession.
Police Officer Rance Quinn and fellow workmate Captain George Simms recently had lunch at a Chili’s Restaurant. During the middle of their lunch, a teenaged girl passed by their table, left a napkin with a note on it, and walked away.
After realizing that there was a note on the napkin, Officer Rance Quinn and Captain George Simms readily read what the note said. The note stated, “thanks for keeping us safe.” Both men were shocked at the contents of the teenager’s note. By the time the men got up to thank the kind teenager, the girl had already left with her family. To this day, Officer Quinn carries that upbuilding note in his pocket with him.
