4 Months After Her Husband Dies, Céline Dion Sings For Him And Stuns The Audience…

Céline Dion has always been a class act and an amazing performer. Just four short months ago the Canadian singer suffered a tragic loss in her personal life. Her husband and business manager René Angélil passed away on January 14th at the age of 73 after a battle with cancer. The couple had been married since 1994 and shared twin boys together.

This past Sunday, Céline Dion performed at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards where she performed along with violinist Lindsey Stirling. The pair performed a beautiful cover of the hit Queen song “The Show Must Go On”.

The song has a special meaning as it was written by Queen’s frontman Freddie Mercury as he was battling AIDS during the early ’90s and nearing the end of his life. Dion sang that song to show her the world that even though she is facing tough times, she will push through them. She dedicated that performance to her late husband René.

Dion broke down in tears when she was presented with the Billboard’s Icon Award while on the same stage in recognition of her successful career. As a surprise to the singer, her son René-Charles came out to give her the award. At the end of her acceptance speech she said to the crowd, “René, this one’s for you. The show must go on.”
