Debbie Maddalena-Saunders’ young son lived his life in constant pain due to an extreme case of eczema. She brought him to be examined by multiple doctors over the years, some of whom claimed her child’s pain wasn’t real. At only 8-months-old, little Tyler began to break out in swollen rashes. The rash spread as he aged, eventually covering his entire body.
His cracked and itching skin kept him from living a normal, taking away his ability to walk on the worst days. In fact, Tyler couldn’t even attend school. Although his ordeal was both frustrating and heartbreaking, his mother never gave hope. Tyler was exposed to many treatments, but not one was effective.
Debbie knew the doctors were not taking her son’s condition seriously. In an attempt to prove his pain, she began videotaping his debilitating discomfort. She was determined to find a cure no matter the cost, as long as she could see Tyler live a happy life.
As fate would have it, she came across a Facebook post that lead her to a South African doctor. After doing some research, she decided to purchase a $35 cream developed by that doctor. She applied the cream to Tyler’s skin for only 3 months, and his symptoms miraculously disappeared.
“He’s resilient beyond his years. There’s no doubt about it,” says Debbie. “He’s so elated and really proud, and he should be because he has worked really hard for it.” Finally, Tyler could live out his life as a normal boy.
