DIY: Hate To Clean The Toilet? This Project Makes It So Simple!

Of all household chores, cleaning the bathroom is the worst, but it must be done regularly to keep bacteria in check. One of the least-desired jobs is scrubbing the toilet. Even when using a brush, it can be difficult to remove all stains and material. Using homemade cleaning bombs will eliminate the hard work and result in a sparkling clean commode.

The bombs are easily made from one-half cup each of corn starch, citric acid and baking soda along with 25 drops of citrus oil. Also needed are a water-filled spray bottle, a mold and some Ziplock bags. To begin the process, combine all dry ingredients inside a gallon-sized Ziplock bag, then shake thoroughly. Spray the mixture with enough water to knead it into a dough-like consistency. At this point, the citrus oil should be added. The mixture should now be pressed into the mold and allowed to dry for 48 hours before being removed. After two additional days of drying, the bombs are ready for use or storage.

To use, a bomb should be dropped into the toilet bowl and left for 30 minutes. Afterward, the toilet will only require a quick scrub or wipe and will be extremely clean. Bombs can be stored in Ziplock bags or in an attractive container until needed.
