The National Survey of Sex and Behaviour has claimed to unearth the one sexual act that is most successful for bringing a woman to orgasm. The study surveyed 1,931 subjects, both male and female, between the ages of 18 and 59. At the conclusion of the survey, researchers analyzed the data to draw the following interesting conclusions:
• 85% of men believe their female partners achieve orgasm during sex, while only 64% actually do.
• 91% of men achieve orgasm during sex.
• Anal sex has a 94% success rate in bringing women to orgasm.
This final conclusion may seem surprising, but it should be taken into account that only 31% of female survey respondents have actually participated in anal sex. As the old saying goes, “correlation does not necessarily imply causation.” Women who are more open to anal sex may be more sexually adventurous and therefore more likely to achieve orgasm in the first place. Anal sex might not have brought the other 69% of the women in the survey to orgasm at all.
A less formal study was conducted by the Daily Star, which surveyed over 9,000 of its female readers to determine which specific act most often results in orgasm for the individual. This study’s conclusions were more predictable. According to the results, the most effective sex acts, ranked in order, were:
• Vaginal sex (36%)
• Oral sex (26%)
• Mutual masturbation (24%)
• Anal sex (14%)
The obvious conclusion, after all this analysis, is that women are individuals, with different desires and preferences. What works for one may not work for another, and so it makes sense to consult your partner to determine her particular needs and desires.
