He Drives By An Old Man On A Porch, But Hits The Brakes When He Sees What’s In His Home…

Thank goodness for Good Samaritans. World War II veteran, 98-year-old Roy Lopez was saved by one just a few days ago outside of his Los Angeles home. Lopez was standing on his porch, and turned to enter back into his home when a man hopped his fence to stop him from going back in. What Lopez did not realize was that his house was on fire!

Witnesses say that the Good Samaritan, only known as “Andres”, was driving by with his girlfriend when he noticed the smoke coming from the home. Then he noticed Lopez about to walk back in.

They stopped the car, Andres hopped the fence and alerted Lopez to the danger he almost walked into while his girlfriend called the fire department. A neighbor who witnessed the whole thing said that Andres was so swift in his movements, and his girlfriend was so quick on the phone. They were the perfect tag team in that situation.

The couple waited with Lopez until the fire department arrived and until the flames were completely extinguished. Firefighters believe that the fire was started by a candle inside the home. Lopez’s son Raymon said that he was thankful for Andres’ quick response that may have saved his father’s life.
