Deputy Tony Scherb recently retired after working at the El Paso County Sheriff’s office for 29 years. He was known for being very professional on the job. One day, he decided that he was going to lighten up and have some fun. When Tony heard Silento’s song, “Whip and Nae Nae”, he could not resist. He began dancing.
Tony thought that he was going to have a party for one in the elevator. He was then joined by Deputy Reed. At first, Reed just stands still and watches Tony dance. However, she decided that she was going to join the dance party too.
The chief deputy comes in and interrupts the dance party. The deputy tries to pretend like nothing funny is going on. Once the deputy leaves the elevator, Reed and Tony start dancing again. Shortly after they start dancing again, another office joins them in the elevator and starts dancing.
The video of the officers dancing has gone viral. It has been viewed over three million times. Many people believe that the elevator dance may have been staged. However, regardless of whether or not the video is staged, it is obvious that the officers are having a good time
