Obama Informs Netanyahu America’s Government Has Some Bad News For Israel

Netanyhu recently won the election to become the Prime Minister of Israel for the fourth time, but sources say he got an unpleasant phone call from Obama shortly afterward. Obama is not happy for Netanyhu for his campaign promise to conservatives that he would never support a two state solution in regards to Palestine. The rest of the world seems to favor just such a solution, and Obama threatened to “re-evaluate” the relationship between the United States and Israel in light of Netanyhu’s hostility towards the Palestinians in general.

If Netanyhu does manage to lose Israel’s support from the United States, this would be a devastating blow for his country. For starters, the United States gives Israel roughly three billion in military aid annually and has blocked all resolutions against Israel in the United Nations for over 30 years.

The situation is made more fragile for Israel since the United States is making progress in its talks with Iran regarding nuclear weapons. Netanyhu is opposed to any kind of compromise – or even constructive dialogue – with Iran and this sentiment could sour the considerable inroads the United States has made with Iran.

To conclude, while Netanyhu’s hard line may have won him some votes at home, it could lose his country support from powerful allies overseas.
