Maher Guest Draws Comparison Between Tea Party And This Evil Group Of People

In a recent installment of Bill Maher’s talk show, a guest whom appeared on the show made a comparison between the Tea Party and the Nazis.

The ordeal began when Maher discussed the disagreement between the Republican party and the Tea Party over a runoff in Mississippi which stirred up a lot of controversy.

Bill Maher expressed his questioning of whether the Tea Party would soon officially disassociate with the Republican party. This prompted Maher’s guest, author Max Brooks, to compare the Tea Party’s separation from the Republican party to the rise of the Nazi party of Germany that occurred in the 1920’s through the 1930’s.

Maher had suggested before the comparison that the reason Thad Cochran was able to win in Mississippi was because voters would rather choose the most least unfavorable choice for a Republican than vote Democrat. Maher then suggested that the GOP may split if the Tea Party continues to disagree with Republican decision making.

That was when Brooks made the controversial comparison. Brooks was quoted saying, “In Germany in the 20s and 30s, there was this right-wing reactionary element that was so terrified of anarchy and communism that they said, ‘You know what? There’s a group of street thugs that are real ideologues and they’re willing to take it and they’re willing to bloody themselves, and, you know, once they get into power, we can control them.” When questioned on his comparison Brooks stated that, “ideologues are only loyal to ideology”, and that he believes that some groups will always be unwilling to vote for the opposing party.
