Monster, Holland – Hans de Borst is devastated over the loss of his pride and joy, the apple of his eye, his 17-year-old daughter Elsemiak.
The young girl was on her way to a summer vacation with her mother, stepfather, and stepbrother in Malaysia aboard Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 when it was shot out of the sky over the Ukraine.
Mr. de Borst’s grief is made all the worse in light of the fact that the tragedy was preventable. Russia has been arming Ukrainian rebels in a bid to present a false narrative to the world of a popular uprising when they are in fact annexing the Ukraine piecemeal as part of their objective to build up the former Soviet Empire.
Mr. de Borst has penned an open letter rebuking Russian strongman Vladimir Putin even asking him how he can sleep at night given the pain and suffering his policies are causing.
To underscore the value of his daughter’s life, he chronicled to Putin all of the things his daughter aspired to which are now unfulfilled dreams.
Holland has born the majority of the suffering for the ill-fated flight. 193 of the 293 victims were from the Netherlands.
The Dutch people are demanding action and Mark Rutte, Prime Minister of Holland, has made that clear in conversations with Putin. He has demanded the Russian president pull the puppet strings he holds over the rebels, as you were, use his influence over the rebels to return the bodies of the victims and allow for a thorough international investigation of the plane crash. At last report, the bodies would be turned over to Holland given they have one of the finest forensic teams in the world and can lead the effort to identify the victims. Other nations will also take part in the identification of the bodies.
