Regardless of whether a person supports or disapproves of Sarah Palin, she has one striking similarity with George W. Bush and Ronald Reagan: she says what she means and means what she says. In short, everyone knows where Palin stands on the issues which gives a person a clear perspective on whether to support her. The same has not been true of Presidents Clinton & Obama, Senators John McCain and John F. Kerry, who served in Vietnam, and to some extent Mitt Romney.
During her recent speech before the National Rifle Association (NRA), Palin touched upon the subject terrorism and how she would wield her executive authority should she be the president.
She led up to her remark by stating that she would absolutely not poke our allies in the eyes and coddle terrorists all of which were jabs at President Obama’s treatment of Israel & Iraq (poking allies in the eyes), and coddle terrorists (Egypt, Libya, Syria, and Iran).
As for the terrorists, whom she accurately claimed seek the destruction of America and the overthrow of the nation’s freedom, she declared that they would know that the practice of waterboarding is how we baptize them.
Needless to say, the crowd of 70,000 at the “Stand and Fight” event were thrilled at the red meat she brought up before them. The imagery is vivid as baptism is a Judeo-Christian practice which is not part of Islam. Naturally, liberals will be irate over Palin’s remarks because of their narrative that America offending Muslims is the root cause of the terrorism.
