A twelve year old dog named Cocoa was left at a kill animal shelter by her owners, basically abandoning a family friend and leaving her to die. Had it not been for the actions of Jamie White, Cocoa would have died on that cold concrete floor soon after she was dumped off by her previous owners.
Jamie had visited the Animal Shelter shortly after her owners dumped her off. She immediately fell in love with Cocoa and adopted her with the hopes of letting her live out the rest of her life with a loving family. Jamie found the previous owners names and contact information on the sheet they filled out when dumping their twelve year companion a the kill shelter. She addressed them by stating that they had better hope the two never run into each other in person.
Jamie went on to say how soon after adopting Cocoa she realized she was in bad shape. Her body had tumors that were causing her pain, and she was most likely suffering. Jamie still had Cocoa treated at the veterinarian and purchased expensive food to try and make her better. The treatments were not effective, and Cocoa was not able to live much longer after Jamie adopted her.
Jamie made every minute that she spent with Cocoa special, holding her in her arms and whispering how beautiful she was right up to the night she dies in her arms. Jamie sent the letter letting the couple know that she thinks what they did was despicable, and wants the world to see them for what they really are.
